The US locations that have the highest and lowest average temperatures — not counting locations in Alaska or Hawaii — are Key West, Florida, and Mount Washington, New Hampshire, based on long-term data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association's major observing stations. Key West has an average temperature of 78.1° Fahrenheit (25.6° Celsius), and Mount Washington has an average temperature of 27.2° Fahrenheit (32.8° Celsius). Florida is generally the state with the highest average temperatures, with seven of the 10 hottest US locations being from the state.
