Choosing the best cream for loose skin involves researching the chemicals and ingredients used in these creams and learning about studies that have assessed their effectiveness. There are many creams available on the market, but some may contain harmful or unnecessary ingredients. The brand name of a cream is not nearly as important as its ingredients. Each ingredient plays a role in determining whether the cream you choose is the best for tightening up loose skin.

There are many chemicals in skin creams. Some are preservatives, designed to make the creams last longer. Sometimes, a cream for loose skin contains mineral oils, which are similar to the oil naturally produced by your body. Mineral oil prevents water from escaping from the skin after you take a shower. Mineral oil can form a greasy layer that traps water and dirt in the pores of your skin and does not help to tighten sagging skin.

Avocado, on the other hand, may be a very effective ingredient in skin care cream. It stimulates the collagen production in skin. Jojoba oil, vitamin E, and grape seed oil are other ingredients to look for when purchasing a cream for loose skin. All of these ingredients help the body produce collagen and elastin, which it naturally produces already.

Olive oil and keratin can also be effective ingredients in a cream for loose skin. When olive oil is included, it helps by improving moisture levels in skin and creating new cells. As the levels of moisture improve so will the firmness of the skin. Keratin stimulates skin’s firmness and elasticity. It also stimulates the growth of the collagen and elastin fibers your skin already produces, which help make your skin tighter.

After considering the ingredients you desire in a cream, you may want to check to see if the cream has undergone any clinical trials. This will help you determine how your skin might react to the cream, and how well it will work for you. If the cream has not been through a clinical trial to test its ingredients, you may want to reconsider purchasing it.

A cream for loose skin can also be used for bags and dark circles under your eyes. Certain ingredients, known as protein fragments, help make more collagen and skin production. Not only does this make the bags go away, but it will also help make the skin more translucent, returning some of its youthful glow.

Have you guys ever used it as a body wraps I used one on my fat face, and it worked! My friend lost like 20 inches using then because she sold them and used them all over all the time. They can get pretty expensive but see for yourself by looking it up. Good luck!

@fify-- I've never tried collagen body lotion before but I have used face cream with collagen and I know that it helps moisturize the skin and prevent wrinkles. Loose skin is partly due to dryness as well so I'm sure collagen cream would help.

Aside from that, I agree with all of the ingredients that @turquoise mentioned. Something else that comes mind is hemorrhoid cream, but I don't even know if it's safe to apply that everywhere. I have heard that people apply it around the eye area for sagging, so it makes me wonder if it would work for loose skin on the body.

Creams are great, but the most important thing is proper diet, hydration and exercise. Make sure to eat lots of vegetables and fruits, drink lots of water and exercise regularly. And then support this with firming creams and I'm sure it will improve.

@turquoise-- Thanks for the suggestions!

I have some loose skin around my belly that refuses to budge. I gave birth last year and it's been there ever since. I was using a cream for stretch marks during my pregnancy and I just have a few of those now. But the loose skin is something different than stretch marks and that cream is not helping at all.

I'm really frustrated because I feel like I won't get my look back. I've lost all of the extra weight I gained during the pregnancy, it's just this loose skin I'm left with now.

Any other suggestions for creams? A friend of mine suggested collagen cream. Has anyone tried collagen cream for loose skin? Does it work?

I have a problem with loose skin because I've gained and lost weight many times. I have used many different kinds of creams and lotions to improve my skin and there are a couple of ingredients which have made a difference.

I think any natural oil that the skin can absorb really helps because it makes the skin more flexible. This is great for treating loose skin as well as preventing future problems.

Some ingredients I love is cocoa butter, jojoba oil, shea butter, emu oil, avocado oil and vitamin E. I also used a firming cream recently that had seaweed extract in it. I'm not sure how it works, but this cream improved my skin a lot too so I would include seaweed extract in my list as well.
