Factors you should consider when buying liquid coenzyme Q10 include the name brand, formulation and price. There are also supplements that are more natural than others, so you may want to go with one of them if you are concerned about the purity of your supplement. Liquid coenzyme Q10 can be found in most supermarkets and pharmacies, or you can often order as a discount online.

One issue you should consider when purchasing liquid coenzyme Q10 is the name brand. If there is a particular brand you already know and trust that is manufacturing other supplements you are taking, then you may consider finding out if they also distribute coenzyme Q10. Name brands are not necessarily better or worse than less expensive options, however, so you shouldn't feel any pressure to spend more money than necessary. If you have any questions about a particular brand or type, you should speak with your doctor or pharmacist to determine if there are any specific factors to consider when choosing a brand.

Another factor you should keep in mind when choosing between types of liquid coenzyme Q10 is the formulation. Some options have additional supplements mixed in to help enhance the benefits. If you are taking it to treat or prevent a specific medical condition, you should consider going with a type that also has other supplements added for optimum benefits. Since liquid coenzyme Q10 is most often sold as for its heart-healthy qualities, it may be mixed with other ingredients that have been shown to promote healthy cardiovascular function, such as fish oil.

Price is another potential issue that you may want to keep in mind when choosing a supplement. Liquid options are often more expensive than capsules, but they may also be absorbed by the body more efficiently. Many people also think they are easier to take. If you have trouble swallowing pills, a liquid option is probably best for you, regardless of a higher price. If you are on a very tight budget, you might consider buying generic brands, or you may be able to order name brands from a specialty website offering discounted supplements.

When choosing any supplement, you should make sure you are getting as pure a product as possible. Check labels carefully to ensure there are no added fillers or preservatives. As always, you should also check with a doctor before taking any over the counter supplement. This is especially important if you have an underlying health condition, or if you are already taking medication.

WiseGEEK is dedicated to providing accurate and trustworthy information. We carefully select reputable sources and employ a rigorous fact-checking process to maintain the highest standards. To learn more about our commitment to accuracy, read our editorial process.

@ZipLine-- My son hates the taste of his liquid coenzyme q10 supplement. He can't swallow the pills, so he has to take the liquid but it's hard to get him to take it.

@ZipLine-- I think all forms of coenzyme q10 work. The benefit of liquid coenzyme q10 is that it gets absorbed faster, but I don't think that it's necessarily more effective than capsules or powder in the long term.

The more important thing to pay attention to is the type of coenzyme q10 the supplement contains. Some contain ubiquinone and others contain ubiquinol. Ubiquinol is better because it's ready for our body to use. Even if you take one with ubiquinone, it has to get converted to ubiqionol in the body.

Of course, price varies for these. Liquid coenzyme q10 with ubiquinol costs more. So that's another factor to consider.

Liquid coenzyme q10 is available in liquid, capsule (gel), powder and tablet form. I've heard that the tablet and powder versions are not very effective. I don't really want to take liquid coenzyme q10 but I will if it works the best.

Does anyone take it? How does it taste?
