Itchy, red and flaky underarms can be caused by harsh deodorants. If you have irritated underarms, and you are ever considering wearing a tank top, you may want to try a sensitive skin deodorant. Many common brands available in drugstores propose deodorants that are unscented or that contain moisturizers that soothe irritated sensitive skin. If you know that you are allergic to aluminum products, you might want to try a natural non-aluminum deodorant. Specially formulated children’s deodorant has lower doses of active ingredients than adult versions, and is therefore less likely to cause skin discomfort.
Your best bet for finding a sensitive skin deodorant that provides enough odor protection is to identify what about normal deodorants is causing your skin irritation. Kid’s deodorant may be an option as well — it contains less irritating agents, which may work out fine for you if you do not sweat a lot.
