As the Tae Bo® line has expanded through the years to include various series, choosing the right Tae Bo® video usually requires careful consideration of the various options available. Tae Bo® refers to an at-home line of fitness DVDs that take elements from high-energy boxing, martial arts, and taekwondo to provide users with a workout described as fun and high energy. Although every user experiences promises to be different, getting the best Tae Bo® DVD will come down to understanding your exercise and fitness goals and learning the benefits of the various series offered.

The Tae Bo® series contains signature moves, including kicks, punches, and choreographed routines that may be difficult to master without taking some time to learn the basics. To get started, choose a series that contains an instructional video, which is often included in Tae Bo® video packages. For instance, in the Tae Bo® T3-Total Transformation Training bundle set, an instructional workout can be completed first to quickly get beginners kicking in style.

Choosing the best Tae Bo® video generally means understanding what changes you want to make in your body. If you want to burn fat and calories, look for DVDs that raise intensity. This can help encourage muscle confusion so the muscles work harder and burn more calories. One Tae Bo® at-home series that may be useful for reaching such a goal is the Tae Bo® AMPED workout series. The high-powered workouts are designed around high-intensity cardio and may be useful for boosting calories burned to increase weight loss and shaping results.

Some Tae Bo® videos are designed to sculpt and shape individual muscle groups and are usually best suited to those who want spot reduction. For instance, individual ab titles are available that claim to help the user reduce the midsection and build a stronger core. If your goal is to firm up hips, buns, and thighs, however, you should probably be able to find a Tae Bo® video that concentrates on the lower body.

If exercise lacks variety or fun, it may be difficult to meet daily physical fitness goals. To encourage daily training, look for a Tae Bo® video series that includes a lot of variety. A box set with several different titles, for instance, will allow you to switch up your workout routine as often as you desire. Programs with shorter DVDs can also be functional, allowing you to work out even when you only have a few minutes to spare. Some fitness videos in the Tae Bo line also include workout equipment that can add additional intensity and variety to routines. Tae Bo® AMPED is one such series and includes a 3-pound sculpting bar that may be able to increase resistance and toning benefits.

Due to the strenuous nature of some Tae Bo® exercises videos, they are not all suitable for beginners. If you are out of shape or have a significant amount of weight to drop, you should probably start with a less intense, low-impact workout regime. Regardless of your current level of physical fitness, however, it may also be a good idea to check with your doctor that you have the above-average levels of endurance and strength typically needed to complete Tae Bo® video workouts.

It can't be emphasized enough that everyone needs to start out nice and easy when it comes to Tae Bo. I too started out with a beginner's video. But since I learned fast, I thought I could handle a far more advanced level next. But I was wrong. I ended up injuring myself.

It was a good lesson that even though Tae Bo could be learned at home, it doesn't mean that we can go as fast as we'd like. And anyone with previous injuries should not attempt Tae Bo without checking with their doctor first. If you have to choose between videos of different levels, go with an easier level.

@ddljohn-- Yea, he does have a lot of Tae Bo instructional videos but they are not all the same. There are different videos for different stages. They also serve different purposes. Like some are for abs, some are just cardio while other focus on losing weight. So you should do some research before selecting the right video.

Tae Bo is a lot of fun. As long as you start out at the beginning level and work your way up, it's easy too. I learn Tae Bo from instructional videos and have a lot of fun doing it. It's a great alternative for those who don't have access to Tae Bo classes or don't feel comfortable going to them.

It seems like I won't have to choose a Tae Bo instructional video because I can only find videos by the same instructor, Billy Blanks. I was hoping for more options but it seems like this instructor is very good, so maybe it won't be a problem after all.
