Choose the best vitamin C tablets by reading the labels on each bottle to determine the nutritional value of each tablet. If you have specific health concerns, speak to your doctor about the dosage amount that is right for you. Also, speak to your doctor to determine how well vitamin C interacts with any other medications you may be taking. Finally, by comparing the prices of different brands of tablets, you should be able to find one that is affordable and offers you the daily requirements you need.

Only consider brands offering pure vitamin C nutritional supplements. Health experts recommend adults take between 75 and 90 milligrams of vitamin C each day, so select tablets with the dosage closest to this amount. If your stomach is easily upset by taking pills, including nutritional supplements, consider taking buffered vitamin C tablets, which are often easier to digest.

If you are under a doctor’s care for a specific condition, speak to your doctor about the vitamin C dosage that is best for you. If you have need of more vitamin C in your diet than is normally recommended, select vitamin C tablets that will help you meet this amount. If you are deficient in ascorbic acid, which is another name for vitamin C, you may have to take more than one tablet per day. Be careful not to take too much vitamin C, however, so as to avoid vitamin C toxicity. Also, ask your doctor if she or he has a preference in terms of the brand of tablets you need.

If you are taking medication for a health condition, speak to your doctor about how well vitamin C tablets will interact with your medication. Although nutritional supplements are necessary for some individuals, they do not always interact well with certain drugs. For example, vitamin C pills do not always interact well with warfarin, protease inhibitors or with statins. Vitamin C tablets may also interfere with the effectiveness of certain over-the-counter medications and herbal remedies, such as aspirin and grapeseed polyphenols. There isn’t much need to worry about this with other vitamin C sources, such as food and beverages, as this issue only applies to nutritional supplements.

Once you have selected a few brands of vitamin C tablets that you have determined suitable for your needs, compare prices to determine which brand is best for your budget. Consider how many nutritional tablets you will need to take each day and try to find a bottle that will supply you with enough tablets to last you at least a month or more. Of your remaining choices, select the one that offers you the best value nutritionally, as well as financially.

I like the vitamin C effervescent tablets. They're easier to take, they taste good and they don't upset my stomach. They're a little hard to find though.

@fBoyle-- I take pure, natural vitamin C tablets that are 500mg per tablet. I think that this is a good supplement and I recommend it.

There are many different types of vitamin C supplements but a regular one works fine. The most important factors are the source of the vitamin C and the dose. Make sure that the vitamin C in your supplement comes from foods sources because this is the most natural and effective type. I also recommend taking a low dose because most of us get some vitamin C through our diet. Especially if you're planning to take your vitamin every day, you don't want to risk toxicity, which is a real possibility with supplements.

Most vitamin C tablets are 1000mg per tablet. But I think that it's better to take 500mg. Never take more than what is recommended on the label and it's a good idea to skip a few days every once in a while to prevent toxicity.

There are too many options for vitamin C tablets on the market. There are chewable tablets, coated tablets, regular tablets and gummy vitamins. Some of them are synthetic and others are made from food. Some supplements only contain vitamin C while others have other ingredients like rose hips. I'm so confused as to which one I should get. I just want extra vitamin C during the winter months to keep my immune system strong.
