Retractable banners are one of the most popular ways of getting a business message or advertisement to an audience. Retractable banners are eye-catching, inexpensive and easy to use. Retractable banners can be assembled in less than a minute and disassembled just as easily.

Retractable banners are similar to film projector screens. They are sometimes called roll-up banners, because that is exactly what they do. Retractable banners have a recoil mechanism that enables the banner to be wound back into its own case.

The banner’s case helps to protect the graphics on the banner during transportation. All you need do once you are at the venue is unlock the banner case, slide up the banner and hook it onto its pole stand. Retractable banners provide maximum visibility to the passerby at an exhibition. The graphics or advertisement can range from company logos and descriptions to photographs of people. Banner companies now have the technology to print almost anything onto a banner.

Retractable banners are an inexpensive way of advertising your company. The banners and graphics on them should set you back between 100 and 300 US dollars (USD). The price difference comes from the size of the display and the detail used in the graphics. Simple color company logos should be cheaper than printing photographs and images on the banner.

Think of any exhibition, trade show or anywhere a large number of people are gathered for an event. There will almost always be retractable banners on display. This is because, when people see a banner with something printed on it, their curiosity almost always gets the better of them. Is there something new on there that they haven’t seen before? Even if there isn’t, you’ve managed to attract them over to your exhibition stand, and that is one of the retractable banner's main jobs. The rest is up to you.

WiseGEEK is dedicated to providing accurate and trustworthy information. We carefully select reputable sources and employ a rigorous fact-checking process to maintain the highest standards. To learn more about our commitment to accuracy, read our editorial process.

you can very well find great vendors for the price you listed right from the manufacturer you would need to look hard enough and you'll be able to find premium stands for under $200 with print. Protective laminate is not needed if you are using a high quality solvent ink. Laminates are needed for inkjet inks that are not water resistant. With solvent ink it is waterproof since it is made from oils.

your pricing is off. A low end retractable stand and graphic done properly will start at closer to $450 USD and they can easily get close to $1000 USD. If you find anything in the 100-300 range you are getting low quality. Most stands alone cost $200-450, then you need to add the graphic done with a proper poly film and pretective laminate so that it will last.
