If you are looking for tourist attractions in Jacksonville, the annual events and festivals are a good place to start to find activities to suit your tastes. Boating enthusiasts may enjoy the Annual Blessing of the Fleet, celebrated in March to prepare for the coming season or the Florida Sportsman Fishing and Boat Show in April. Golfers may look forward to the Players Championship in May, which brings top PGA players to the area. And fireworks aficionados, take note: not only is Jacksonville’s Fourth of July fireworks display reputed to be one of the largest in the nation, but there’s also a second annual fireworks display to celebrate New Year’s Eve!

Maps may be misleading and make Jacksonville look like a river town, not a beach town, but through the consolidation with Duval County that happened in the 1960’s, Jacksonville not only populates both banks of the Saint John’s River, but actually fronts the ocean as well. So, among the many tourist attractions in Jacksonville the St. John’s River and the Atlantic Ocean offer a variety of beach, water sport, and touring possibilities. With an average of 200 sunny days a year in Jacksonville, it’s likely that you’ll enjoy good weather.

One of the most popular tourist attractions in Jacksonville is the Jacksonville Jaguars at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. In addition, the stadium hosts the Gator Bowl and hosted the 2005 Super Bowl. Monster truck rallies are also held there. At the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville, you can see the ACC Baseball Tournament and the Jacksonville Suns, a Double A affiliate of the Major League Baseball team, the Dodgers. The Jacksonville Equestrian Center is the go-to place for the Northeast Florida Dressage Association, and for professional youth rodeo.

If you’re looking for tourist attractions in Jacksonville with a lot of different possibilities in one space, check out the Times Union Center for the Performing Arts, with its three halls, the multi-purpose Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, and the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center. At the first, you might find the Jacksonville Symphony one week and a dance recital or musical theater offering the next, At the second, you might find Hank Williams Jr. and Lynyrd Skynyrd one week, then Brooks & Dunn, and then professional bull riders. And at the third, you can find everything from a celebration of the craft of Quilting to the Fall Home and Patio Show to an Art and Antiques Show.

What are other tourist attractions in Jacksonville? In the fall, you can attend the Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair and see popular entertainers as well as a 4H Dog show, cooking and floral design contests, carnival rides, and livestock judging. Looking for more rides and less animals? Try Adventure Landing Jacksonville, an amusement complex with a speedway, pirate-themed laser tag, an arcade, and miniature golf.

seeing lynryd skynyrd at the jacksonville convention center would be fantastic but since he died many years ago this might be a hard concert to book.
