A bedroom bench can refer to a variety of benches that are sold as indoor furniture. Many people find these benches highly appropriate for the bedroom because they are functional and can beautifully contribute to bedroom décor. They may be most useful as a place to sit to put on certain pieces of clothing, like socks. A number of styles may offer other benefits like convenient extra storage.

Benches can be made of wood or metal and they may feature a padded seat. Choices in upholstery fabrics are numerous and can include things like leather, microfiber or chintz. Some benches have backs and others are backless, and width of benches can vary too. The myriad selections mean that people will have plenty of choice in both type and price range when they search for these benches.

Sometimes a bedroom bench combines seating with extra elements. Those who are looking for storage can buy cedar chests that have backs and double as a bench. Alternately, there are benches with storage compartments underneath the seating component and some offer shelves below the seating surface.

Extra storage in the bedroom can be used in lots of ways. Some people keep extra linens in a bedroom bench. Others store mementos, off season clothing, shoes, or Christmas ornaments in benches with large storage capacity. Generally largest storage capacity is available in those seats that are also cedar chests.

When shopping to coordinate with a bedroom set, people should look for components that are similar to what they already own. For instance, a lightly stained bedroom bench made of wood would coordinate well with bed frames and dressers that also feature light staining or that are made of light woods. Others times benches are offered as coordinating parts of bedroom sets, and it may be worthwhile to buy a bench at the time that other bedroom pieces are purchased.

Many people place the bedroom bench at the foot of the bed. This is fine provided people don’t exit their bed at the bottom. Of course, it isn’t necessary to place seats at the bottom of beds and they can sit up against any available wall.

Benches can be used in other rooms. They can make for excellent living room or family room furniture too. Since they are usually less bulky than sofas and loveseats, they may be a perfect alternative in small living areas where every inch of space is precious and must be used carefully. Some people don’t choose them for space economy but instead favor them for their storage capacity, elegance or for their ability to coordinate with other design elements in a room.

My bedroom is the second level of our home and has a big window that looks outside the back yard. I have a nice looking window bench in front of the window that adds a special touch. This bench is not upholstered with any fabric, and this makes it easy to change the pillows from time to time depending on the look I have for the room.

There is something eye catching about a bench in a room, that just gives a cozy feel and invites you to sit down for a bit. This bench does have a back on it, so also makes a nice place to read a book or magazine too.

I have a beautiful cedar bedroom bench that I keep at the foot of the bed. I have some special special linens and two quilts that were made by my grandmother that I keep stored inside the bench.

I also like to keep a lot of pillows on the bed, and the bench furniture also makes a great place to put the pillows instead of laying them on the floor beside the bed. Not only does the bench look nice at the end of the bed, but serves as good storage both inside and outside.
