A personalized toothbrush is a toothbrush that has been uniquely customized in some way to make it identifiable to its owner. It may be personalized by having someone's name printed on it, or the name of a dentist, for example; dentists frequently hand out free personalized toothbrushes to their patients. A personalized toothbrush may also just refer to a toothbrush that one selects due to a certain color preference.

As a toothbrush is neither something that is usually shared, nor an item that is often taken out of one's own home, a personalized toothbrush is not very common. It is usually an unnecessary step to to personalize one's toothbrush. There are some instances, however, where a personalized toothbrush could come in handy. When traveling with multiple people, personalizing one's toothbrush may be a good idea; kids often like personalized toothbrushes as well.

If a family has more than one child in the house, each child can have his or her own personalized toothbrush. This way, the toothbrushes do not get mixed up, and there is no fighting. The toothbrushes can be personalized with a child's name, a cartoon character, or just a favorite color. Toothbrushes with colorful cartoon characters or just different colored handles can be found in virtually all drugstores, discount stores, or grocery stores, but toothbrushes personalized with a name will generally need to be special ordered.

Personalized toothbrushes are typically plastic, but sterling silver ones may be found online as well. Dentists may order personalized toothbrushes in bulk online, but personalized toothbrushes may also be ordered individually. It may be a good idea to purchase a few at once, however, so the buyer does not have to order a new toothbrush and pay shipping and handling every few months. They are typically a bit more expensive than the regular toothbrushes that are found in stores. Of course, there are other ways to personalize a toothbrush in addition to imprinting a name on the handle or selecting different available colors.

Electric toothbrushes frequently offer interchangeable brush heads for various personalized stages of cleaning. For instance, a soft brush head may be used every day, whereas a medium or harder bristled brush head may be used for whitening teeth and buffing the teeth. Even a personalized toothbrush should be replaced every three months, as dentists recommend; in addition, it is important to visit the dentist for a complete cleaning every six months.

I would like to order some personalized toothbrushes for my three boys who I think may be using each others. I know, yuck! But where?
