Most types of fruit and vegetable juicers will not work so well on wheatgrass. Therefore, there are electric and manual juicers available that will juice wheatgrass more efficiently. There are a few different reasons to juice your wheatgrass plants with a wheatgrass juicer instead of using the same juicing machine you would use for other foods. Unlike other juicing devices, a wheatgrass juicer will extract the juice from each individual leaf slowly. In essence, it acts more like a press than a typical juicer. This is the preferred method as high speed juicers may not get all of the juice from the leaves and it can damage or destroy the enzymes from what you do manage to get.

A wheatgrass juicer is designed to be able to work properly while juicing a high fiber food. Other types of juicers can get clogged up with all of the fiber wheatgrass has. By doing this, you may have to repair your juicer or spend money on a new one. Preventing a costly mistake can be as easy as purchasing a wheatgrass juicer and using any of the other juicers you have for their recommended food products.

There are different models of wheatgrass juicers on the market today. You can find a wheatgrass juicer that is made for commercial use, as well as a manual or electric wheatgrass juicer that will work perfectly for families to make homemade juice. While you will not want to juice wheatgrass with other types of juicers, there are wheatgrass juicers available that can also juice other types of produce. Wheatgrass juicers come in a wide range of prices. Therefore, before making a purchase, you may want to determine how often you plan on using the device, how long you want it to last for, and if you want to be able to juice other produce as well. This can be used as a guideline when looking at all the different options you have.

Wheatgrass can have many different health benefits. Some doctors say that wheatgrass can build blood because the chlorophyll molecules are nearly identical to the hemoglobin molecule you will find in human blood. This can not only help increase the count of red blood cells, it can also increase the capacity of the blood to deliver oxygen to cells throughout the body. Wheatgrass juice is favored by those who frequently go to the gym and body builders. This is because it is a complete protein. It consists of multiple amino acids, including arginine, lysine, glycine, and aspartic acid.

I have an expensive, stainless steel electric wheatgrass juicer and a cheap manual plastic juicer with a hand crank. I actually use both of them and they both work well. I use the electric one when I'm juicing wheatgrass for several people and the manual one when I'm juicing only for myself.

@fBoyle-- I don't have a recommendation but I advise you to read reviews before investing in a juicer.

I bought a manual juicer that claimed it would juice wheatgrass, along with other vegetables and fruits. It wasn't expensive but it doesn't work for wheatgrass at all and that was the only reason I bought it.

So either get a juicer that has been manufactured only for wheatgrass or read reviews to make sure that the juicer does indeed juice wheatgrass. I personally don't think that you will be very happy with a cheap wheatgrass juicer. If you drink wheatgrass juice daily, then it's probably a good idea to invest in a high quality, electric one.

Is it tiring to use a manual juicer for wheatgrass?

I want to start growing wheatgrass at home and I will need a juicer. I saw online that the electric ones cost way more than manual juicers. But I'm worried that I might have a hard time using a manual one.

Does anyone have a suggestion for wheatgrass juicer? I need one that's affordable and easy to use.
