@fBoyle-- You don't have to pay a lot for a good elliptical exercise bike. You won't get something that's as good as the ones at the gym, but you can definitely find a durable and effective elliptical bike for a good price. I highly recommend reading customer reviews. Make sure that the bike is easy to install and durable.

I want an elliptical exercise machine for home. Unfortunately, I don't make it to the gym often and it would be great to exercise in my living room in the evenings while watching TV.

I know that the best elliptical exercise bikes are the ones that cost the most. But I have a limited budget, I have to get something affordable. Does anyone here have any recommendations for an affordable and also a good quality elliptical?

I use an elliptical machine at the gym regularly. I think that the benefits that one gets out of the machine depends on how much effort he or she puts in. The machine will always burn a considerable amount of calories just from the stepping motion and the resistance. But one can get even more benefits by using the handles properly and actually pulling on the handles to workout the arms at the same time.

So, in my opinion, more than the type of elliptical exercise bike, it's important to use the bike properly and with full effort.
