The program's website notes that, in most cases, cell phone documentation is not available for developers of BitPim to refer to, increasing the difficulty of providing instructions. For this reason, not all hacks are available for all phones.

Wow! I had no idea about this. Seems like a great alternative to buying ringtones.... And if its free then you can change ringtones more freely. So, the question is, I guess, is it common to experience "unsuccessful modifications" that essentially kill your phone? I haven't ever relied on my cell phone warranty so that wouldn't be a deal breaker. But if lots of people have tried the software and been left without a phone, well, that could deter me.... Anyone know anything about the unsuccessful rates with BitPim?
