Washington State is a wonderful vacation destination for those who love food and wine. The town of Yakima, which is located in Southern Washington State, is an especially good place to visit if you plan on enjoying wonderful dining experiences on your vacation. Also, this region of the state is known to experience an average of 300 sunny days out of the year, so your great meals are sure to be accompanied by great weather.

Birchfield Manor, a Yakima restaurant, offers many classic dishes. The real treat, however, is having the opportunity to select a bottle from their 3,000 strong wine list. Also in Yakima is Grant’s Brewery Pub, which is both a bar and a micro brewery. If you are a lover of Italian food, then make sure to have a meal at Yakima’s Deli De Pasta, which makes its own fresh pasta daily.

Walla Walla is located in the southeastern part of Washington State. In fact, it is right next to the border of Oregon. Walla Walla is also home to great restaurants. But it has great music to go along with it. The Walla Walla Blues Society puts on some great shows. If you enjoy dining to great music, check the schedule at the Merchants Ltd. Delicatessen & French Bakery, which is especially known for its great brunch and for booking great blues acts. Other great dining spots in Walla Walla include Jacob’s Train Car Café, The Backstage Bistro, and the Whitehouse-Crawford

Washington State is home to some great wineries. In fact, many of them are located in and around Walla Walla. If you take a trip to the area, be sire to visit both Waterbrook and Cayuse Vineyards. But Walla Walla is not the only home of great wineries in Washington State. If you plan on visiting a number of different parts of the state while you are on your vacation, consider visiting the town of Paterson, home of the Columbia Crest winery. L'Ecole No. 41 and Woodward Canyon are two wineries worth visiting in Lowden, Washington. Portteus Vineyards is located in Zillah. Although Washington State is not as well-known for its wine as locations such as Northern California, many of the wines coming from that region are beginning to gain some nice recognition.

Washington State is a wonderful place to enjoy outdoor activities. The fishing on Oregon is superb, and there are a number of wonderful golf courses in the state. There are also a number of fantastic mountain trails for hikers. There’s nothing like a day of great mountain air and exercise that is finished off with a great meal accompanied by a great local vintage.

Oh my gosh! The very best thing to do in Washington State is to visit Lake Chelan! It has got to be the country's most beautiful natural attraction. You can windsurf, boat, water ski, camp, and hike there. It's awesome. Everyone should take time out for Lake Chelan if they find themselves in Washington!
