The average annual meat consumption for Luxembourg residents was more than 300 pounds (136.5 kg) per person. By comparison, the per-person consumption in the United States was 276.4 pounds (125.4 kg) per year. India boasted one of the lowest annual rates, at 7 pounds (3.2 kg) per person, even though India has become one of the world's leading exporters of beef.
